Hanoi, 25th September 2023 – Honda Vietnam (HVN) in collaboration with the National Traffic Safety Committee (NTSC) and the Ministry of Education and Training (MoET) organized the Ceremony of helmet donation to the First grade pupils nationwide in 2023.

Collaborating with the Vietnamese Government to realize the target of "ZERO traffic fatality" by 2045 and Honda Global target of "ZERO traffic collision fatalities involving Honda motorcycles and automobiles" by 2050, Honda Vietnam (HVN) has decided to donate 2 million helmets to the First graders nationwide in the school year 2023 – 2024.

This meaningful program also comes from the awareness of the key role of wearing standard helmets in protecting traffic users. Especially for First graders – an important age to form thinking, giving them the habit of always wearing standard helmets when sitting on the back of motorcycles is extremely necessary. The lovely and qualified helmets given to pupils in the first days of entering first grade will be a memorable moment in the first back-to-school season, becoming a premise for the habit of always wearing standard helmets when participating in traffic.

The decision of donating 2 million helmets in the school year 2023 – 2024 is aimed at:

  1. Establishing the habit of wearing helmets among Vietnamese motorcycle users, thereby achieving up to a 100% ratio of wearing qualified helmets
  2. Enlightening pupils and parents for traffic safety and Improving awareness through publicity activities

This meaningful and practical activity is a continuity of “The helmet donation to the First graders” implemented nationwide by Honda Vietnam, the National Traffic Safety Committee and the Ministry of Education and Training from 2018 to 2020. After an interruption due to Covid-19, in the school year 2022 – 2023, HVN has restarted “The helmet donation to the First & Second graders in combination with traffic safety training for kids & parents” in three big cities: Hanoi, Can Tho and Ho Chi Minh City. Along with the decision to donate 2 million helmets to the First graders nationwide this year, the total number of helmets have donated by HVN reached nearly 8.6 million.
