Tree Planting and Livelihood Program, Fostering Clean River for the Community

The Honda Foundation, Inc. (HFI) reached a significant milestone that underscores its commitment to environmental preservation and community well-being through its Tree Planting and Livelihood program in Barangay Magsaysay, Siniloan, Laguna.

The Tree Planting and Livelihood program is implemented over 28 hectares of the Sierra Madre Mountains under the DENR’s National Greening Program. The reforestation efforts involve planting 14,000 fruit-bearing trees. As of June 21, 2024, more than 2,000 trees have been planted.

During the World Water Day celebration on March 22, 2024, HFI led the River Clean-up activity in the same province. These collaborative efforts significantly inspired and created awareness in the community about the importance of environmental and freshwater conservation for families. A total of 240 kg of waste was collected during the event.

HFI’s programs aim to reduce carbon footprints while promoting self-sufficiency and quality of life of the community.
