All-new Honda Accord Awarded 5-Star ASEAN NCAP Safety Rating

Bali, 21st November 2019 – The 10th-generation Honda Accord has received a 5-star rating in a crash test conducted by the ASEAN NCAP (New Car Assessment Program for Southeast Asia). This outstanding result emphasizes Honda’s commitment to ensuring a high level of safety for everyone.

The all-new Honda Accord achieved a 5-star rating with an overall score of 91.79 out of 100, including a frontal offset impact test, side impact test, and evaluation of safety features. The new model received impressive scores of 49.07 for Adult Occupant Protection (AOP), 23.28 for Child Occupant Protection (COP), and 19.44 for and Safety Assist Technologies (SATs).

The 10th-generation Honda Accord officially launched in Southeast Asia starting with Thailand in March 2019, followed by Indonesia in July, the Philippines in September, and Singapore and Vietnam in October.  This premium and sporty model has received positive feedback from Thai customers with 6,300 bookings as of October 2019, five months after the begin of sales in Thailand.

The all-new Honda Accord is equipped with Honda SENSING, an advanced driving assist system that supports the driver to avoid a collision or mitigate the impact if one occurs.

Other advanced safety features* that have also been introduced for the first time include:

  • Parking Assist, which makes reverse and parallel parking easier by providing automatic steering assistance;
  • Multi View Camera, which assists driving by covering blind spots from the driver’s seat;
  • Cross Traffic Monitor, which enhances driver confidence when reversing while the view from the driver’s seat is obstructed.

The all-new Honda Accord’s standard safety features* also include a body structure designed using Advanced Compatibility Engineering™ (ACE™) plus a full range of active and passive safety technologies* such as six airbags; Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA); Hill Start Assist (HSA); Emergency Stop Signal (ESS); Multi-angle Rearview Camera; Electric Parking Brake (EPB); Automatic Brake Hold; and Honda LaneWatch.
