All-new Honda HR-V and All-new Honda BR-V Achieve Highest ASEAN NCAP Safety Rating

The 2nd generation Honda HR-V and the 2nd generation Honda BR-V are awarded a 5-star rating in the latest ASEAN NCAP (New Car Assessment Program for Southeast Asia) announcement. This reflects Honda’s commitment for everyone sharing the road, can safely and confidently enjoy the freedom of mobility.

The all-new Honda HR-V achieved a 5-star rating with an overall score of 81.38 out of 100 (100.92/120 for total score), including a frontal offset impact test, side impact test, and evaluation of safety features. It received impressive scores of 28.00/32 for Adult Occupant Protection (AOP), 45.43/51 for Child Occupant Protection (COP), and 19.50/21 for Safety Assist Technologies (SATs), and 8.00/16 for Motorcyclist Safety (MS).

The 2nd generation Honda HR-V made its debut in Southeast Asia in November 2021 in Thailand and now is sold in 9 countries in the region. The model receives impressive feedback from ASEAN customers with nearly 25,000 units (as of July 2022).

The Honda BR-V, which is marketed in Indonesia and Thailand, also achieved a 5-star rating with an overall score of 77.02 out of 100 (96.11/120 for total score). The detailed scores include 26.98/32 for Adult Occupant Protection (AOP), 44.53/51 for Child Occupant Protection (COP), and 16.50/21 for Safety Assist Technologies (SATs), and 8.10/16 for Motorcyclist Safety (MS).

Both HR-V and BR-V are equipped with Honda SENSING* with Honda’s advanced driving assisting system. The system uses the front wide view camera, inside part of the windshield to provide greater awareness of driving conditions around the vehicle by detecting cars, motorcycle, and pedestrians effectively. It provides warnings and supports the driver in avoiding or mitigating the severity of a collision.          

The models are also equipped with a wide range of advanced safety features* such as Honda LaneWatch, Multi-angle Rearview Camera, Walk Away Auto Lock, Front Passenger and Rear Seat Belt Reminder, and Rear Seat Reminder.

Honda will continue to provide safe and reliable vehicles and lead efforts to realize zero traffic collision fatalities involving Honda motorcycles and automobiles globally by 2050.
