100% utilization of carbon-free energy by 2050

Honda is committed to achieving net-zero CO2 emissions and deriving all power from carbon-free energy sources by 2050. To reach this goal, Honda is reducing energy consumption and CO2 emissions through increased production efficiency, energy-saving initiatives, and the use of low-carbon and renewable energy sources.

In line with this commitment, Honda has recently increased its renewable energy generation capacity to 1.5 MW by adding a 1.0 MW solar system connected to the HACPL grid. This project will reduce CO2 emissions by 14.35 kg/unit (376 tons per year) through the use of solar power.

Honda is actively introducing renewable energy around the world, including in the A&O region, and will continue to use renewable energy matched to local conditions as it moves towards a sustainable future.
