In 2016, Vietnam Auto Parts Co., Ltd (VAP) improved the Jig’s profile of cutting to fit the products to reduce VOC so the horizontal spacing between the hanging Jig L-side parts of the painting line still have excessive space. After removing the profile, this space is wasted. VAP was done to narrow the horizontal distance between the hanging Jig from 16 cm to 4 cm and added a row which increased the efficiency of the chain. Thanks to the use of materials and existing jigs, no investment costs were required.
After the improvement, VAP shortened the running time from 14.8 hours to 13.6 hours per day. It also reduced electricity consumption by 180,092 kWh, reduced LPG consumption by 12,224 kg, and reduced CO2 emissions by 100 tons per year.
