Honda Thailand Foundation Donated Money for 780,000 baht to WatBangNoi (Champrachanukul) School at Samutsongkram Province for Building a Fence Under the Voluntary Project

Bangkok, Thailand, October 18, 2017: Honda Thailand Foundation, a charitable organization certified by the Ministry of Finance, donated money for 780,000 baht to WatBangNoi (Champrachanukul) School for building a fence under its voluntary project. Mr. Kasamesak SoanChan, the principle of WatBangNoi (Champrachanukul) School received the donation.

At the occasion of the donation, over 80 volunteers from the Honda group of companies in Thailand volunteered to help painting the school fence for over 200 meters.

The voluntary project started in 2011 after the massive flood stroke the major part of central Thailand, during which over 5,000 school buildings in the area were destroyed.

In line with the Thai government’s requests for private sectors to promote donations to help those schools, Honda Thailand Foundation took initiatives not only in providing donations to them but also encouraging Honda associates to volunteer to help restore the schools.

WatBangNoi (Champrachanukul) School is located at 24 Moo 4, Jomproke Sub-district, Bangkontee District, Samutsongkram Province, and it is under supervision of the Primary Educational Service Area Office, Samutsongkhram province. The school offers three-level curricula; kindergarten, primary, and secondary, and now 328 students study there with 15 teachers. WatBangNoi School is the 9th school that received donation from Honda Thailand Foundation under the Voluntary Project.

The Honda Thailand Foundation was established in 2002 with the donations from four Honda companies in Thailand; Asian Honda Motor Co., Ltd., A.P. Honda Co., Ltd., Thai Honda Manufacturing Co., Ltd., and Honda Automobile (Thailand) Co., Ltd. The Foundation aims to improve the current situation of the Thai society in various fields, which include education, preservation of Thai culture, philanthropy, and environment.

The Honda Thailand Foundation has been in partnership with the Thai Library Association under the Royal Patronage of H.R.H. Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn to promote libraries for under privileged schools, with the Asian Elephant Foundation of Thailand to conserve elephant habitats in the jungle, and with Prabahtnampu Temple to help people who suffer from HIV or AIDS. The Foundation also collaborates with the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation, the Ministry of Interior and the National Institution of Emergency Medicine, under the Ministry of Public Health to support disaster prevention and mitigation projects under Honda Khiang Khang Thai Fund, which is a special fund secured in the Honda Thailand Foundation to tackle the impacts from natural disasters.
